My New Years Resolutions In February?
Years ago I stopped making New Years resolutions... and you know why don't you? Because they have a way of being forgotten by the end of January. While I'm all for setting goals, I don't think the rah-rah atmosphere of New Years is the time when I want to do that. I'd rather think about what I want to do and why and when I make up my mind that I have a good enough reason to do something differently, then I do it, regardless of what day of the year it may be.
So what's my February 1st resolution? Get healthier. Now.
We lost a friend in the embroidery industry a few days ago. Many of you knew her as "Bettie Did-It". She was a digitizer and an advertiser in our Daily News. A couple years ago she slowed down a bit in her digitizing but she was just a fun person to be around and we will miss her. Everyone who knew her would say the same thing about her... "You always knew where you stood with Bettie." She was a very "forthright" person. We'll miss you Bettie. :-)
One of Holly's closest friends in college was recently diagnosed with cancer. And another person whom we care about very much had the same news in November.
When this happened, we started looking at our own healthy habits (or not so healthy ones) and asking if we would be willing to do something different. The answer is YES and we will let you know how it goes shortly.
Holly and I have both fought the battle of the bulge our entire lives as well as other issues. We have a plan and will let you in on it over the coming weeks.
