Larry In Hospital
I'm okay now but it wasn't a fun trip. On Friday I got up as usual but my stomach wasn't feeling quite right. By 5pm we headed for the ER as I thought I was having my 2nd bout with diverticulitis. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. It was an obstruction of the small intestine. Some nausea and pain drugs and it looks like the problem has passed. But I'm still in the hopsital for a while. Sure puts the kink in my plans for lunch today with friends. :-)
Urban Legends...
I often see posts on facebook that seem to be crazy but are posted by friends. Instead of hitting "share", I do a Google search, or look them up on www.snopes.com with just a key phrase from the post to see if the story is true. It seems like at least 90% of the time, the story is a hoax and my friend has re-posted it, thinking it was true.
If you see an odd story, please verify it with a quick check on Google, Snopes, or UrbanLegend.com website before you share it.
There are a LOT of these hoaxes for some reason and I have shared a couple of them myself without checking for the truth first. It doesn't take long before someone points out the facts and I'm a bit annoyed when I know I've fallen for one of them myself.
