Holly Digitizing On Wacom 12WX Tablet..
Here's a photo of Holly (okay... Holly's hand!) digitizing on her Wacom Cintiq taken a couple weeks ago. We get questions almost weekly about what tablet Holly uses. This is a combination
of both "computer monitor" and "drawing tablet" in one unit. The stylus acts as a mouse and is used directly on the surface of the screen. With the Cintiqu, your eyes and the tip of your "pen" are focused in the same place. This is the same way you have been writing or drawing all your life and becomes very natural very quickly. It makes digitizing faster and better. Holly's is mounted on an adjustable monitor arm made by 3M and sold at Amazon.
Cost is
about $1,000 for the small Cintiq. The 12WX model is discontinued and has been replaced by the model 13HD. Similar size and higher resolution at about the same price point. The only thing the 13HD lacks is the programmable buttons that the 12WX has on the side bezels.
Holly Teaching 1 Live Public Class This Year...
Holly will be teaching a LIVE 1-day digitizing class
in May at the American Embroidery Conference ("AEC") in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. (Near Miami)
This is the only LIVE beginner's level class Holly is planning on doing for 2014. Attendees will get a 30-day trial version of Generations software to use during the all-day class and can take it home with them to use for a full month of digitizing practice.
The class fee is $50 to cover the cost of the trial version of the software. This is a $2,000 software program and is a
full working copy that you can use for a full month!
The AEC is a 5-day conference that costs $400 to attend. Get more details and register for the conference here...
