Cintiq Mounted On 3M Arm...
One of the most frequent category of questions we get during a digitizing webinar is about the type of tablet Holly uses, how it is used, and related questions.
Holly uses
a Wacom Cintiq. The model is 12WX. It is mounted on a 3M arm the swivels, pivots, and raises up and down. The mount allows Holly to move it up to eye height or down to desktop level, or anywhere in-between.
The Cintiq is BOTH a monitor and a drawing tablet combined into one device. So basically, Holly draws on the screen of her monitor with a special pen that acts as the mouse. This makes for very fast digitizing as it is the same feel as drawing on paper with a
pencil or pen... you are looking where you are drawing. That is different from a standard tablet like an Intuos or Bamboo because with those tablets your hand is on the tablet while your eyes are on your computer monitor.
