It's easy to forget to set your clock forward or backwards isn't it? For almost everyone in the USA though, it's a semi-annual event
that we have all grown accustomed to over our lives. And with good reason to, right?
Because - it saves ENERGY!
Or does it?
In case you missed this report on CNN yesterday, I'll share a link to it for you to read ( or view if you prefer video ) covering the myths of Daylight Saving Time...
By the way - here's an "Internet Smarts" tip for you...
In this article you will find a link to a
website where you can sign an online petition to abolish Daylight Saving Time. You may want to consider NOT signing that petition! Here's why...
The website "standard time . com" is where the idea of abolishing DST is explained. At the top of the site is a menu item that says "The Petition". Notice though that clicking that menu item actually opens up a new website called... "Petition2Congress . com" and there, you enter your name, email
address, and your zip code. But it doesn't end after you click "Submit". They then ask for your street address and next they offer to send not just an email, but letters instead, and it's only $3 per letter... a $9 total. Assuming you say "No - just send the emails" they will do that. But they also add YOU to their email and physical mail list for every political candidate who wants to buy their list information.
So... if you need more junk
mail and more spam - by all means - do use the petition :-) Otherwise... LOL.
But - the CNN article IS an interesting look at the myths of Daylight Saving Time.
