The year was 1967 and the three top songs that year included "The Letter" (by The Box Tops), "To Sir With Love" (by LuLu) and "Ode To Billie Joe" (by Bobbie Gentry). So today ( now yesterday when you read this ) commemorates the 50th anniversary of the day Billie Joe McAllister jumped off the Tallahatchie bridge.
I still don't know exactly WHY he did that, but I finally stopped letting that question keep me awake at night.
In other news - Holly is on her way this morning to attend Serger School in Wilmington NC. I don't think I mentioned that in any of my newsletters because for 10 years now that this has been happening, there has never been an opening for a
new student that wasn't filled in about 5 minutes.
Serger school is hosted by Dawn Wenner ( Crystal Eye Candy ) and taught by Missy Billingsley. While there aren't any openings in Serger School, there ARE still some openings for the sewing cruise. I included info about the cruise below. The headliner is Missy and a couple of friends. Holly will be on the
cruise too taking classes and enjoying the Carribean.
I will watch the dogs. Hmmm... maybe we should re-think these business trips eh?

Cost: Cabins range from $587 to $827 per person. The sewing class fee is
$498.
Where: Departs Port Canaveral FL and cruises to Coco Cay, St Thomas, and St Maarten before returning to Port Canaveral.

---------- 10 Saturday Show I am still in the process of working on the software updates for my Saturday Morning shows. They WILL return in July. I make greeting cards using a heavy weight pellon interfacing. I use the cards that are actually for inserting photographs. I use "redwork" designs that fit in the opening and that lend
themselves to painting. So first I embroider the design, then I paint the designs and then "embellish" them. I have made several hundred. I have given sets of 25 to 7 family members and I always keep a stash."
