I think this is the 5th year Holly has attended Serger School. I went with her to make the 800 mile drive safer and to keep her company
when she wasn't in classes. Most nights though, she got back to our hotel room near mid-night because they just get a lot done for the few days they have there.
Because it is a hands-on class and only so many people can be helped by one teacher, the class is limited to 25 people. It is always sold out with current year attendees given first dibs on next years school as soon as registration opens.
The sponsor of
the school is Dawn Wenner of CrystalEyeCandy.com and the teacher is Missy Billingsley of Baby Lock. Location is Wilmington, NC.
I remember Holly's first serger was a Bernina she bought around 2002. It got very little use and I remember the struggle she had threading it. When she saw a Baby Lock and air-threading, she switched brands for serger and her second one did get more use. But since she started taking these classes, the serger has
become her go-to machine for anything sewing related. Of course, embroidery machines still have their place too. :-)
