On the first of each month I send an email out to all our ATW friends telling you HOW TO BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER. I know 99.999% of
you ignore the email and I understand why. It seems so "unnecessary". Yesterday, I was on the phone helping a customer with a problem logging into download designs. After we fixed that issue she told me that her Windows 10 laptop had locked her out.
She couldn't login to it and it looked like the only solution was to reload Windows. Yes,
that will fix the problem, but it will also mean that all the "data files" ( embroidery designs, quilt designs, family photos, music, tax returns... etc ) stored on that computer will be lost forever. I gave her a couple ideas of how she MIGHT be able to recover those precious files, but no guarantee she will get them back.
Now, I urge you to
consider what happens to you if YOUR computer suddenly stops working. How many embroidery designs and family photos will you lose?
If you have never made a backup before, please look up the email I sent you a few days ago about how to do it. It is NOT NOT NOT hard at all. You just have to do it. Please
do.
